WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH

Outcomes, not lecture notes.

01

Plan and scope a mobile app from idea to feature list using structured design thinking

02

Build a working app prototype using no-code and low-code tools like Glide, Adalo, or Replit AI

03

Use AI tools to brainstorm features, design user interfaces, write in-app copy, and troubleshoot problems

04

Understand core mobile app design principles: navigation flow, user experience, and layout best practices

05

Test your app, identify problems, and iterate based on real feedback

06

Present your finished app and explain the design decisions behind it

07

Recognize the difference between no-code, low-code, and traditional development — and know which fits which project

ABOUT THIS CLASS

A few years ago, building a mobile app meant learning to code for months before making anything anyone would actually want to use. Not anymore. This project-based course teaches students how to design, build, and test a real mobile app using no-code and low-code platforms — with AI tools doing the heavy lifting on feature brainstorming, UX design, copy, and debugging. You'll walk away with a working app you built yourself, a clear understanding of the app development process, and the confidence that you can turn ideas into real digital products — with or without traditional coding skills.

SYLLABUS

Building Real Things Without Waiting Until You Know How to Code

There's a common misconception that building an app requires years of programming experience. AI tools and no-code platforms have made that untrue — and this course proves it. Students spend every session making actual progress on a real project, starting with an idea and ending with a working, shareable mobile app. The focus throughout is on the full app-building cycle: design, build, test, iterate.

From Idea to Feature List

Good apps start with clear thinking, not just enthusiasm. The course opens with structured brainstorming: what problem does your app solve? Who is it for? What are the three features a user absolutely needs in version one? Students practice the kind of focused scoping that professional product teams use — and quickly discover that "do one thing well" usually leads to something worth sharing.

No-Code Tools and AI Collaboration

Students build using accessible, powerful no-code platforms — tools that let you design screens, connect data sources, and configure app logic through visual interfaces rather than written code. AI tools integrate throughout the build process: generating feature ideas, writing interface copy, suggesting design improvements, and helping debug when something doesn't work as expected. Students learn to treat AI as a creative and technical partner — not a replacement for their own judgment, but a powerful accelerator for it.

Testing, Feedback, and the Iteration Mindset

The most important thing you learn building an app isn't how to code — it's how to test something you made and genuinely be willing to change it based on what doesn't work. Students demo their apps, collect feedback, and practice the iteration cycle that makes every version better than the last. This mindset — build, test, improve — is one of the most transferable skills in any creative or technical field, and this course instills it through direct experience.
