ABOUT THIS CLASS

Introduction to Arabic is a 6-week beginner course that gets you speaking, reading, and understanding Modern Standard Arabic from the very first session. You'll learn to hold real conversations — the kind you'd actually need while traveling, exploring a city, or connecting with Arabic speakers in group settings. Along the way, you'll crack the code of Arabic script, learning to read signs, transit directions, and common public phrases that would otherwise look like a mystery. No prior experience needed — this course is built specifically for students starting from zero and ready to lay a serious foundation for one of the world's most widely spoken languages.

SYLLABUS

Start Speaking Arabic in Six Weeks

Introduction to Arabic is a beginner-friendly course that doesn't waste time — from the first session, you'll be working with the language: hearing it, speaking it, and starting to read it. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the formal register used in news broadcasts, literature, and official communication across the Arab world, making it the ideal starting point for anyone who wants a skill that travels. Whether you're dreaming of a trip abroad, connecting with Arabic-speaking communities, or building toward more advanced study, this course gives you the tools to get started with real confidence.

Conversation First

The heart of this course is spoken communication. Students practice the phrases and vocabulary that actually come up in real life — greetings, introductions, asking for directions, navigating transportation, and socializing in group settings. The focus isn't on abstract grammar drills; it's on building the ability to say something meaningful and be understood. By the end of the course, you'll be able to hold a basic conversation and handle common travel interactions in Arabic.

Unlocking the Arabic Script

One of the most exciting parts of learning Arabic is learning to read its script — and this course makes that accessible from the start. Students learn to recognize and decode the Arabic alphabet well enough to read foundational real-world text: street signs, transit maps, storefronts, and common public signage. There's something deeply satisfying about arriving in an Arabic-speaking country and being able to actually read what's around you — this course gets you there.

A Foundation Built to Last

Every skill introduced in this course is chosen with long-term learning in mind. Students don't just pick up isolated phrases — they begin to understand how Modern Standard Arabic is structured, which makes future study significantly easier. Think of this course as the launchpad: six weeks of focused, practical work that sets you up to keep growing far beyond the final session.

Who This Course Is For

This course is designed for true beginners — students with little to no experience with Arabic who are ready to engage seriously with a new language. If you've ever been curious about Arabic but didn't know where to start, this is exactly where to start.
