ABOUT THIS CLASS

Eight weeks to go deep on everything the PSAT tests, in a course that doesn't just cover content but builds the strategic thinking and test-taking fluency that turn knowledge into points. This comprehensive PSAT prep course covers the full range of Reading & Writing and Math skills with enough time to truly internalize each concept, practice with real question types, and identify and fix the specific patterns in your performance that are costing you points. Whether you're targeting National Merit recognition, calibrating for the SAT ahead, or simply want to walk in knowing you did real preparation, this course gives you eight weeks to get genuinely ready.

SYLLABUS

A Full Eight Weeks to Actually Know the PSAT

The difference between four weeks of prep and eight weeks isn't just more time — it's the depth that extra time makes possible. Eight weeks allows students to encounter each concept multiple times, identify and address the error patterns that repeat across practice sets, and develop the kind of automatic familiarity with PSAT question types that makes the exam itself feel like familiar territory rather than a surprise. This course uses all of that time deliberately.

Reading & Writing — From Confusion to Command

Over eight weeks, students develop genuine fluency in every Reading & Writing question type the PSAT uses. Command of Evidence questions — where students identify which piece of textual evidence best supports a claim — get the attention they deserve, since they're among the most misunderstood question types on the exam. Vocabulary in Context, Transitions, Rhetorical Purpose, and Grammar and Mechanics questions are all covered in depth, with recurring practice that builds real pattern recognition. By the end of the course, students recognize what each question is asking for before they finish reading it.

Math — Deep Coverage from Algebra Through Geometry

The PSAT Math section spans a wide range of topics, and this course covers them all: linear and quadratic equations, systems of equations, polynomial operations, data analysis and statistics, coordinate geometry, and the geometry and trigonometry content introduced at the upper end of the exam. Each topic is taught with the test context in mind — not just the math concept in isolation, but the specific forms the PSAT uses to test it, the traps it sets, and the strategies that make difficult questions more manageable.

The Long Game: Practice, Analysis, and Adjustment

The eight-week format allows for a strategic prep cycle that shorter courses can't replicate: practice with real questions, careful analysis of what went wrong and why, focused review of problem areas, and a return to similar questions to confirm the learning has stuck. Students develop the habit of treating every practice set as diagnostic information rather than just a score — which is exactly the mindset that produces the most improvement over time.
