Genre Exploration

  • Differentiate between various literary genres — including fiction, nonfiction, fables, and folktales.
  • Identify key characteristics of each genre to improve comprehension.
  • Recognize the purpose and structure of fables — understanding how animals personify human traits and impart moral lessons.
  • Explore folktales to understand cultural storytelling — recognizing how these tales explain natural phenomena and societal values.

Text Features Mastery

  • Utilize text features to navigate informational texts effectively.
  • Understand the purpose and function of tables of contents — enabling efficient information retrieval.
  • Analyze captions, headings, and subheadings to extract key information.
  • Interpret images, charts, and graphs to enhance understanding of complex topics.
