The PSAT is the gateway to National Merit recognition and the best real-world preview of what the SAT demands — and four weeks of focused prep is exactly what it takes to show up ready. This course covers all tested domains — Reading & Writing and Math — with equal attention to content mastery and test-taking strategy. Students learn what the PSAT actually tests and how it tests it: the specific question types across every section, the time management habits that make a real difference when the clock is running, and the strategic approaches that separate students who know the material from students who know how to take the test. Four weeks, every section, ready to score.
More Than a Practice Run — The PSAT Is Its Own Game
The PSAT is often treated as a warm-up for the SAT, but for students competing for National Merit recognition, it's a high-stakes exam in its own right — and even for students who aren't targeting Merit, it's the best real-world preview of what the SAT demands. This four-week course takes the PSAT seriously: covering every section, every question type, and every strategic habit that produces a score worth having.
Reading & Writing — Precision Over Speed
The PSAT Reading & Writing section tests a specific set of skills: understanding how passages work, interpreting textual evidence, answering vocabulary-in-context questions accurately, and applying grammar and mechanics rules to edit sentences and passages. Students learn the internal logic of each question type — what the PSAT is actually asking, how right answers are constructed, and how wrong answers are designed to mislead — so they're making informed decisions rather than guessing under pressure.
Math — From Concepts to Test-Ready Execution
The PSAT Math section tests algebra, advanced math, problem-solving and data analysis, and geometry. This course covers each domain with a focus on the specific forms these concepts take on the test: the types of equations the PSAT favors, how data analysis questions are structured, and what geometry questions look like in the digital format. Students also build the problem-setup habits that determine whether solid math knowledge translates into correct answers.
Putting It All Together
The final sessions focus on integration: full-section practice under timed conditions, targeted review of personal weak spots, and the strategic meta-skills — pacing, question-skipping, uncertainty management — that separate strong test takers from great ones. Students leave this course knowing exactly what to expect on test day and exactly how to approach it.
