Realistic by Aja' - July 2017 Scholarship Essay

For me, I am tired of people giving me optimistic answers for everything in life. When I am feeling some type of way, I want the most realistic answers you should provide for me. Even when you think it might hurt my feelings, I want to hear it still. I know this does not to apply to everyone, but please consider why I believe this way.
In life, you will face difficult obstacles and traffic that optimism would not get you out from. Sometimes you must take a different route even though you hate it. I know I hate taking different routes for certain things, but it is better than someone telling “It will be alright if you just dream and believe hard enough” yet you are still at that roadblock. That is what I am teaching you.
Life will throw a lot in your way, so please keep an open mind and change routes. Staying in one spot will make you stress out a lot more than changing lanes. I have been there and I will still be there if I do not be real to myself. This is not pessimism; this is realism. I only want the best for you. That is the truth.
