California by Alejandro - December 2016 Scholarship Essay
My biggest academic accomplishment would be my ability to honestly call myself a "Straight A Student." I never gave school my 100% attention or even came close to using all of my potential. Up until Junior year, I was considered a "C average" student. During the summer of Sophomore year, I made it my absolute goal to do better academically and accomplished that during my Junior year by earning an A, all B's and one C. I didn't have a college in mind either, but I embedded it in my head to at least do well enough to be able to apply to any if I decide to attend. During the summer of Junior year, I made a new goal to be a straight A student and attend a 4-year college right after high school.
Today, I am proud of my academic accomplishments and of my ability to say I am a straight A student with honors classes. I am finally showing the true potential I withhold, and am working hard to achieve other goals I've set for myself. I'm proud to be working hard to pursue a career in the medical field as a paramedic, then as an RN. I am proud to be a straight A scholar.
