Life by Alexis - May 2025 Scholarship Essay

If I had unlimited time and money, I would use what I’ve learned in school—especially the value of empathy, creativity, and communication—to build safe, empowering spaces for youth to grow, heal, and express themselves. School has taught me more than academics; it has shown me how important it is to be heard and supported. I’ve learned how art, writing, and storytelling can change lives, and I want to share that power with others.

I would create free creative learning centers in underserved communities where students can explore their talents through writing, photography, music, and technology. These spaces would offer mentorship, mental health resources, and opportunities to publish and showcase their work. I’d also fund scholarships for young people with big dreams but limited resources, because I know firsthand how hard it can be to move forward without financial support.

With unlimited resources, I’d travel the world capturing stories through photography—stories of resilience, hope, and culture—and use them to connect people from different backgrounds. My goal would be to inspire unity and compassion across borders.

Ultimately, I would use what I’ve learned in school to remind young people that their stories matter, their dreams are valid, and they have the power to shape the world.
