My personal experiences that led me to the Ross School of Business. by Ana - February 2024 Scholarship Essay
I grew up in the small town of Imlay City, Michigan where I had limited exposure to advanced courses. I really didn’t know what direction to pursue. When I was accepted at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor I knew I had a special opportunity. I was accepted with the understanding that I would start the summer I graduated from High School. I began in the Michigan Bridge program in June 2022. I was apprehensive going into this program, but it turned out to be very inspirational! By attending the Michigan Bridge program, I learned the ropes at U of M and was introduced to the Ross School of Business. Since my acceptance was merely to the LSA, I was motivated through the Bridge program to join a special learning community at Michigan called the Preparation Initiative program. This program is a learning community that is designed for current University of Michigan undergraduates who wish to apply to the Michigan Ross BBA program. Becoming a part of this learning community inspired and instilled a work ethic that was new to me. By being a member of this learning community I became a better student.
My most recent goal was to be accepted to the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. During the summer of 2023 I gained my acceptance. I foresee greatness in my future which will include a bright future in business. My overall goal is to obtain my law degree- if finances allow for it. I see myself achieving this future because I am a hard worker who is willing to put in what it takes to achieve a future I have dreamed about. I will continue to put forth my 110% in and out of the classroom to achieve my dreams. I have worked in my community since I was 14 years old where I started making subs at Subway. I have continued to work and save for my education. This scholarship would greatly help me out in paying for tuition to continue on my education path. I am trying to get through college without taking out too many college loans.
