Although leadership skills are important for success in the future, leadership skills are not important for college success. When students begin their college experience, they are still young and still figuring out who they are. Not everyone is quite ready to be a leader yet because they are still coming out of their shells. It is alright to begin college as a follower, as long as each student learns and grows. College is a time when students should become leaders. It is still possible to be successful in college without leadership skills.

College is a tough transition for most students. They are out of high school and out of the comfort of their parent’s homes. Now students really need to start thinking about the future and what it is they want to do. Naturally, people get a little afraid and they might take a step back. It is easy to be intimidated in college; everything is new and different. It is hard to be a leader when having to experience such a huge change. College is the first step to building a future, it is okay to be a little scared.

During college, students might become followers rather than leaders. This is because they are not yet sure what they are doing so they look to others for inspiration. This will help them discover themselves and what exactly it is they want to do with their lives. However, they are still growing and still trying to become the best they can be. It takes time to get there.

College should help students become leaders. They should learn the skills they need to gain confidence and to excel in their career path. Although leadership skills are not important for college, they are important when the time comes to go out and get a job. College should prepare each student for the road to success. Not everyone is born a leader, but with the proper education, each person should learn how to succeed in the future.

In conclusion, leadership skills are not important to be successful in college because students should learn how to become leaders in college. It may take time, but students will eventually learn how to become influential. First, students need to become confident in the road they are heading down. This may involve getting to know themselves a little better and college is a great place to do this. College is a time for self-discovery. With the help of college, students will learn how to become leaders which will help them to succeed later on in life.
