There's no way of getting around it, technology has become vastly popular and a common tool in society today. Some carry negative opinions and view technology in a negative light when in the classroom, however, it is very beneficial for education. It is no longer optional –but a vital tool for transforming how students' academic growth and teachers teach. Overall, it has improved school settings by increasing student engagement, supporting personalized learning, and strengthening communication.

Technology in the classroom is very useful as it provides a range of educational platforms to make lessons more hands-on and engaging. Some of the most common ones used in my courses are Kahoot, Duolingo, and Quizlet. I enjoy these platforms, finding them to enhance studying methods because of the visuals and repetition presented. These apps also offer a more personal learning experience for the student since direct teacher help isn’t always available. One of my personal favorites is Quizlet, because making flash cards has been especially effective, along with it sorting the questions I'm not as strong in yet for further studying. Simulations have been especially beneficial in psychics, chemistry, and math, in order to perform experiments that we don’t have the means to actually complete in class. These were difficult courses for me to understand and online labs, along with simulations made the concepts clearer and less overwhelming. Digital resources expand access to information at a much quicker rate than textbooks do. I've had classes where online textbooks were available, which made it much easier to do work since I had that information at my fingertips. Instead of being limited to whatever the textbook included, technology offers various resources to support different learning styles. It offers a wide array of topics and allows them to be researched at our disposal, proving to be more efficient in grasping concepts.

With technology available in the classroom, it gives students the opportunity to build essential digital skills they will need for the future. All jobs will have some form of online aspect to them, whether it be email, typing, creating presentations or spreadsheets. One of the most valuable things I learned during elementary school was how to type. Today in school, I looked around and realized people don't know the proper typing techniques, which is important to be time efficient. Typing is the backbone of engaging with the digital world today, which is why it is so valuable to be proficient in this skill. This also builds on communication and collaboration skills for group projects since individuals must work together to create them. Tools like Google Docs, Slides and shared projects make it possible for multiple people to work on the project at once. Things like discussion boards and messaging also create easier communication as well as expose peers to new ideas. It strengthens connections between teachers, students, and even parents from direct messaging and being able to communicate through specific assignments. I appreciate when my teachers leave comments on my assignments, whether it’s corrections or telling me I did a good job. Ultimately, incorporating technology in subjects builds essential skills that will prepare students for success in future opportunities. It not only improves academic settings and education but prepares for real world preparation.

Digital resources make classroom settings more engaging, personalized, accessible, and collaborative. It doesn’t just help learners understand but adapt and do well in the rapidly changing world. Technology isn’t replacing original thoughts from students and teachers but rather giving them both new tools to thrive in education. As technology continues to evolve, the impact it has on learning will only strengthen and remain a powerful tool for helping every student succeed.
