My Senior Year So Far... by Brandon - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

My senior year has started a little rough. It was very stressful to get my college applications finished and submitted by their deadlines. In addition to my rigorous coursework, I had decided to partake in many extracurricular activities. I gained many leadership opportunities through different organizations and clubs. I was elected President of Helping Hands Community Service Club, President of Student Government, Captain of the Varsity Bowling Team, and Student Representative for the Board of Education. These positions all require a lot of commitment and time. It's so difficult to balance my everyday schedule, but I somehow make it work. However, I feel it will all be worth it once I graduate. My resume is very extensive, my experience in leadership has grown significantly, and I feel confident that I can get into my top choice colleges.

My proudest school accomplishment would have to be me becoming Student Government President. I work really closely with administration and can help resolve or make aware any issues or concerns the student body has. I am also trying to promote school pride by establishing a school store and hosting various student and staff events. It has only been about 3 months into my senior year, but it has been great so far and I'm proud of where I am at and what I can do in the future. I love helping others, it's my passion, and I will continue to do so even after I graduate high school.
