Growing up, school was my favorite place because it provided a sense of safety. However, I struggled with completing my homework. While I performed well in class, I often fell short on my out-of-school assignments. The environment at home made it difficult for me to excel academically. Once I realized that my circumstances were affecting my performance, I decided to change my approach. I began staying after school to use the extra time for completing my assignments and sought out public places with free internet access. This strategy worked for a while, but when winter arrived, the cold weather made it challenging to walk to those locations.

As a result, my grades started to decline, and I began to feel overwhelmed. For my 16th birthday, my mother withdrew me from school entirely, and I had to enroll in an online school. During this time, I also needed to get a job to pay for Wi-Fi, which was essential for my studies. To balance work and school, I would arrive at my job early to complete assignments and utilize my breaks to work on school tasks as well. Growing up in a household marked by domestic violence was incredibly challenging and had a significant impact on my academic journey. However, with perseverance and a little hope, I managed to overcome these obstacles!
