The Growing Seed by Ceasar - February 2014 Scholarship Essay

Many people want to make something great of themselves although many do not know how to get there. They assume that things will come easy for them and their life will plan itself out. They may have great lives now, but what they do not realize is nothing comes easy in life. everyone has to work for what they have and want to become in life. Take each day as another step preparing yourself for your future.

Life lessons come to people when they least expect it. At the most unexpected moment, something can greatly change your life. The best time to start planning for what someone wants to become in life is now. The most inspirational quote I have heard is a quote by Robert Louis Stevenson and the quote says, "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant." This quote says much to me because of the fact of how long it took me find the way to achieve my goal of what I wanted to become in life. In life nothing came as easy to me as I wish it could have came. When I was young, a tragedy happened in my life that changed it forever. Life was so great until the day my little brother had a near drowning. After his accident, nothing was the same for us anymore. Then I took everything for granted and now things are not as easy to obtain such as money for college.

Since I was young, I always knew I wanted to become a doctor but never knew exactly what kind of doctor I wanted to be or how I would get there. Once I finally started planning, it was too late. Life was great I was in high school and took life day by day rather than planning to prepare myself for my future. I started planning towards the junior year of high school and finally finished at the end of my senior year.

I ended up going to a local community college as a last choice, but this school is not going to help me end up where I want to in life. I would like to transfer to a four year university but money is hard to come across. Due to me taking life day by day and not planning for the future, I have a taken a step back in life from where I want to be by now. No one should ever just expect that since they are doing good in school now, life is going to come easy to them.

I have finally realized what I want to be in life and I am always planning for my future. My plan now is to transfer to a four year university, achieve my bachelors in biology and become a plastic surgeon. I am finally using what I have learned in life and all my accomplishments such as being a medical assistant right out of school, and using them to get to get to where I want to be in life.
