Unlimited Impact by Destinee - May 2025 Scholarship Essay

If time and money had no bounds, I would use what I learned in school about health care access to create a positive impact on the world. Throughout the years, I’ve learned about the disparities many individuals face. Access to healthcare is fundamental many individuals face barriers that prevent them from receiving the care they need. These challenges can be financial, such as a lack of health care insurance, which often forces individuals to have to pay out-of-pocket expenses. Other obstacles include transportation difficulties, wait times in the emergency room, limited availability of services, especially in rural areas or underprivileged areas-and low health literacy. Discrimination and language barriers can further prevent access, particularly for minority groups. It increases the risk of diseases, mortality, and progression of untreated disease. Imagine a world with no pain and no missed opportunities to be in a better health condition. Improving health care access would be my determination with unlimited money and time. Ensuring equitable access to healthcare by effectively reducing health disparities and promoting inclusivity is essential to eliminating the healthcare inequalities that countless individuals encounter every day. Making services available to all without the pressures of wondering if they can pay the expenses themselves. Each community would have dozens of health centers built. This would allow transportation access to be easier, allowing people access to healthcare services, and no more missed or delayed healthcare appointments. Investing in cures for diseases and improving literacy in healthcare. Ensuring access to health care is not just a matter of individual well-being; it is a pressing public health imperative. This would help overcome financial, social barriers, societies can enhance health outcomes, prevent diseases, and promote equality. It allows society to be able to progress and come together in solidarity.
