Education in 10 years and more! by Eberardo - July 2022 Scholarship Essay

When it comes to education and how I see the future changes of education in the next 10 year to unfold, it would most definitely be very technologically advanced beyond our current comprehension! This excites me because I’m very confident that our next generation will have the latest and most advanced technology and education possible! More beyond our current education! Throughout my years of going to school I have had the opportunity to see education and technology advance in front of my own eyes, back when I was in elementary I still vividly remember that only our teacher was the only one with a computer or desktop. Additionally when we had celebration days where we watched movies as a reward I recall sitting in a circle with my peers as the teacher brought in a wheeled cart that had a television, this television wasn’t modern in any way instead it took vhs and rarely dvds! But as I grew older I saw the drastic transition where the school gave the students our own computers for our classes! This change was very drastic and life changing for me because I wasn’t used to having a chromebook of my own, since I was used to only having our teacher having a laptop. Now imagine what drastic change we would have in the next 5 to 10 years?! I can only imagine our technological advancement will only increase to make education and learning easier for students! Back when I first was given my own chrome book I hugged it tight and was very surprised that the school decided to provide all of the students with our own laptop, this made learning so much easier and more manageable! I can only imagine this same feeling with our next generation to increase and become larger, the next generation will have technology that is beyond our current comprehension and will make learning so much easier than it is now! Additionally I can view education in the next 10 year to be very technologically advanced to the point where students will have the option to have it all online and have access to it in the palm of their hand! I would like to joke that you will have technology so advanced that you can go to school and put on a pair of glasses that will become a set of VR headphones that will show you panels and modules to that class! Imagining this makes me very excited and happy for our next generation even though that vision is highly unlikely to happen since that’s a big technological advancement but I’m sure it’s not impossible to happen! Lastly when I view education I can only imagine the next generation to be highly encouraged to continue higher education, as it has been shown that high school seniors who graduate have steadily declined throughout the years. While I myself have always been motivated and determined to continue my dream of having a higher education because I’m a first generation Mexican American who wants to create a new path for my siblings to follow and become a role model and a beacon of hope to my loved ones and others that it’s possible to continue a higher education despite having a childhood filled of financial obstacles such as homelessness and having to go from house to house, I am aware that many students may not like the idea of going to college to have a higher education. But I’m very confident that throughout the years this decline will fix and the future generations will be determined to continue having a higher education!
