Making a Honor Roll by Emily - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

One of my greatest accomplishments is being able to make Honor Roll every quarter. Although this is an amazing thing to be able to do there are many sacrifices that I have to do. Along with these sacrifices there are many advantages that I get in the end too. One advantage I get is in the future it will help me greatly with scholarships for college. Another advantage that I get will be more opportunities open up for me later in life. Not only will it help me in the future, but it will also help me to today. It can help me with opportunities that can happen to me in high school. Another one is it can help me with being confident in myself. I think that these advantages will always be worth it in the end even with the sacrifices.
In order to make this accomplishment I had to have many sacrifices along the way. One sacrifice that I had was having to take out time in my day in order to finish assignments or study for upcoming tests. This causes me to have little time to do other things in my life or to spend time with friends and family. Also a sacrifice is is not having much of a social life. Having assignments to finish every day or night doesn't leave me with a lot of time to be on social media or hang out with my friends and my family. I have to finish the assignments given to me first before I can go out, text, or go on my social media. Another sacrifice I have is staying up late on some nights when I have a lot of homework. Some nights it is a struggle to be able to finish my homework before I need to go to bed. If it is way too late to finish my homework sometimes I will have to finish it in the mornings. This makes me tired for the next day and is not good for myself to get little sleep.
