More Than A Mentor by Ethan - January 2025 Scholarship Essay

There have been a lot of teachers that have helped me throughout the years and that have helped me along my educational journey. This one teacher in mind sticks out and it is Kevin Schelb. Mr. Schelb no longer teaches me as a senior but he taught me my sophomore and junior year of high school. One of the main classes he taught me in was history. He taught not only me but us as a whole class a bunch of things about history all the way from early wars, the American Revolution, to history all the way up to today. Another main class I took was his seminar. He helped me learn a lot about what life is like beyond high school, the struggles I might see along the way and what I can do to get through those hard times and to continue on the good ones.
Mr. Schelb was one of the main reasons I am pursuing my education into college. Not only him helping me be the class alone, learning about college life and then later actually finding out what I want to do in college. The main field I want to get into is Physical Therapy and he had us do some projects on them and at the time I thought it was dumb and boring but now I am so happy I did it because now I know what I want to do with my life after high school and college.
