A big change by Euridice - December 2024 Scholarship Essay

I am Hispanic and in my country, although they taught us the English language, it was not necessary enough to know it perfectly and we had to emigrate to a country where it was absolutely necessary. I had not yet graduated from high school in my country so I had to settle in this one with the little I knew. For me it was a total challenge to learn everything again from scratch, math, the language, trying to socialize, to understand, to be able to group with the people around me. It was difficult to have to change my entire environment, and in this case, based only on academics, I had bad days feeling pressured by exams and assignments that I could not understand, I was so frustrated that I felt like I could not do it.
After so many failed attempts at exams, learning more English on my own and forcing myself to understand things as comfortably as possible for me, I managed to graduate. Maybe not with the best grades, but I was able to overcome all my academic challenges, because I was also in a Hispanic Club, which even though it was in Spanish, the community hours were with English speakers, so it was still a challenge for me in that aspect. With patience and perseverance I managed to finish everything I decided to do, which even though it was a complete challenge for me, it was not impossible.
I know that my greatest ability is not giving up so quickly, I kept going and tried until I could make it a reality, I tried until the last day and I know very well that every effort was worth it, from the smallest to the largest.
I still have a lot to learn, continue strengthening my English, focus on my future and I know that if I manage to overcome this great challenge in my life, I will be able to achieve the other challenges that come in the future.
