Fight for Education by George - April 2019 Scholarship Essay
An academic challenge is any obstacle faced through out one's academic career, that prevents a student from getting an adequate education. These which might include issues such as learning difficulties or disabilities, underachievement, lack of attention from teachers, and bullying, affect a number of students throughout their academic careers, from elementary school to college.
I remember when I was in elementary school,I felt like I was the smartest kid on earth.I would barely study and pass my quizzes, tests and exams with flying colors. This also worked in middle school, which made me feel relaxed as it was not broken so there was no need to fix it.Trying this in high school did not work out,I struggled for two years and ended up needing a tutor.I would sweat profusely when it was time to show my parents my report cards.I struggled mainly in math and physics but with the help of my tutor, those are now my favorite topics.I met with my tutor 4 times a week for 2 years, which required me to sacrifice my social life and my leisure time.
Hard work paid off and in my external exams I got As in math and physics. This struggle showed me the concept of hard work which I apply in every aspect of my life.
