Try Over Trial by Grace - March 2019 Scholarship Essay
If I were to give a tour of my high school to the incoming Freshman class and had to send them off with advice, there would be many things I would desire to tell that class. The most important piece of advice I could give them is to try no matter what and to take chances. High school is full of many great opportunities to make memories with friends, but also for educational growth. While it is important to enjoy the four years of high school, it is also important for one to apply him or her self over the four years of high school.
One ought to take opportunities to create lasting friendships as well as enjoy once in a lifetime opportunities. School dances are prime example of once in a lifetime opportunities. Even though there are school dances every year, the experiences that are had can never be replicated. Experiences will vary for every student, but each experience that is had will help shape each person for different areas in their lives.
However, the most important thing would be that each freshman should push him or her self to do their best. In some cases, that means taking harder classes, but for others it means that one must take easier classes and try his or her hardest. By no means should we allow students to simply go through high school, barely scraping by. In order to prepare each of the incoming students better, I would like the students to realize that grades and academics do matter in the long run. While it may be a trying process, it is well worth it in the end.
