What does education mean to me? by Isaac - October 2022 Scholarship Essay

To me, education is the path to success, my success. So what is my success, you ask? Well, it's nothing grand. I only wish to have a job that I'm satisfied with and, most importantly, to make my mother proud.

They say that even if your job pays well, it's not worth it if you hate it. So I want a job I'm satisfied with and can look forward to doing every day. To achieve this, I will need to pursue a career in engineering. However, I can't become an engineer by simply wishing for it. There are many steps I need to take to achieve that goal, and my education is a crucial part of it.

My mother wanted to be a doctor, but her dreams were never achieved because she didn't get the chance to continue her education. She dreaded the same thing would happen to me, so she worked hard to ensure I had everything I needed for my education. My mother's support adds another layer of motivation that pushes me toward my goal. I want to succeed and prove that her efforts weren't wasted.

So, education to me is the ticket to my success. It is crucial to achieving my intended career and making my mother proud.
