My biggest academic accomplishment by Jasmine - December 2024 Scholarship Essay

My biggest challenging academic experience came from my first year taking multiple AP courses at once. As a junior I took AP Chemistry, AP Language and Composition, and AP United States History. This new great workload was something I found difficultly adjusting to and I often found myself drowning in class work and homework. There were many times throughout the year where I felt that my studying efforts were not being conveyed by my test scores and this often left me feeling discouraged and wanting to give up. I made it a goal of mine to make my teachers who have worked so hard to help me proud of my test scores by passing all three AP exams in May. I decided to put in a little extra dedication and I decided to seek outside help online and through study groups. These outside recourses greatly pushed me to continue trying my hardest to pass all of my exams. This month of cramming for AP’s was a very stressful period in my junior year. Regardless, I pushed through and gave my all into my studying sessions. In the end, I passed all of my exams and felt the proudest I have ever felt of myself. This taught me that even in spite of failure, if I continue to try and give my best work ethic, it will always pay off.
