To Past Jewel by Jewel - September 2022 Scholarship Essay

Dear past Jewel,
You will be going through a lot through your teenage years. The passing of your Father, the passing of your grandparents, your brothers multiple car accidents risking his life, going from having everything to just making it, losing support from family, and the list goes on. My biggest piece of advice for you is to cherish every moment you have with your father. Your father is going through a lot right now and its hard for you to see since you are so young. Give him kisses and hugs. Tell him how much you love him. Your are your fathers princess. He tells you how much he loves you everyday. Do not take these moments for granted. As I am writing you this to inform you that he is currently not with your future self anymore. He committed suicide due to all the stress that he was under. Ask him all the questions that you can. I have a list of questions that I want to ask him but unfortunately can't. Do not take these moments for granted. I wish I could still talk to our father but I can't. It hurts tremendously. His death has came with many sleepless nights where you have cried yourself to sleep wondering why and what you could've done. You had a great childhood but growing up comes with many hurdles that you'll have to conquer. You are going to go through so much, please enjoy your time now.
