My Dream Job by Joel - February 2019 Scholarship Essay

The general idea of a dream job is a job that does not require a lot of work, however results in copious amounts of money. I would like to think my dream job is quite different and this job is to be a CEO of an employee owned company called Aubrey Silvey Enterprises. A college degree is not required for this dream job of mine. It will just jump start my career in this business.
The main reason I want to pursue this dream of mine is that I have seen the success this company brings to my family. My dad has worked there for 13 years and he has climbed through the ranks and he is now a current superintendent with his own crew. My brother has worked there for seven years and is also a superintendent. This company has treated my family with nothing but love and respect.
Moving on, the financial blessings this company brings to the table are quite abundant. ESOP is what intrigues me the most and that is the retirement plan for this company. Since this is an employee owned company, this retirement plan is just the company cut into shares, and the longer you work there, the more amount of shares you own. This makes it where if you stay there your entire life, you retire as a multi-millionaire which is also an added bonus.
Last but not least, I'm attending the University of Kennesaw State in order to pursue a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering on the Marietta campus. After I acquire this degree, I plan to enroll in an post-graduate course to help me prepare for the professional engineer's exam so I can be classified as a PE (professional engineer). Again, none of this is necessary however, it will allow me to bypass the regular construction worker stage that my dad and brother had to go through, so I can get further along in the steps to acquire my dream job.
All in all, this job is unlike most dream jobs and it is not a get rich quick scheme. I will have to work quite a lot to acquire this job and also when I have this job. However, the people of this company, most I already know through the summer I have worked there as a temp, are great people and make work enjoyable. That is the main point in deciding for a dream job for me, if I will actually enjoy the work and the journey to get there.
