My name is Joshua Dilone, and I am a high school senior with a passion for aviation and aeronautics. As I look forward to pursuing my dreams at one of my top-choice universities, I reflect on a challenging academic experience that taught me resilience and determination.

Throughout high school, I have always been fascinated by the mechanics of flight, the science behind aerodynamics, and the technology that allows us to soar through the skies. However, my journey toward this passion has not been without its hurdles. One of the most significant challenges I faced was during my junior year in my physics class. Physics is a critical subject for anyone interested in aviation, and I knew that mastering it was essential for my future studies in aeronautics.

At the beginning of the semester, I struggled to grasp the complex concepts and formulas that were fundamental to understanding physics. My initial test scores reflected this struggle, and I found myself feeling discouraged and overwhelmed. With a GPA of 2.9, I knew I had to improve my performance in physics to strengthen my academic record and make my dream of studying aviation a reality.

Determined not to let this challenge derail my aspirations, I decided to take a proactive approach. I began by seeking help from my physics teacher, who was incredibly supportive and willing to spend extra time with me after class. We worked together to break down the difficult concepts into smaller, more manageable parts. This one-on-one attention helped me gain a better understanding of the material and boosted my confidence.
