My journey through graduate school at California State University, Northridge, has been filled with many rewarding experiences and a few significant challenges. One academic challenge that stands out occurred during my second year in the Teacher Education program. It was a period that tested my resilience and determination, ultimately shaping me into a more capable and compassionate educator.

The challenge began with a course that focused on inclusive education and differentiated instruction. The course was designed to prepare future teachers to meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom. As a Hispanic woman pursuing a career in education, I was particularly passionate about this subject. I wanted to ensure that all students, regardless of their background or learning abilities, could succeed in the classroom. However, the course was rigorous and demanded a deep understanding of various teaching strategies, educational theories, and the ability to apply them in practical settings.

What made this course particularly challenging was the requirement to develop a comprehensive lesson plan that incorporated differentiated instruction for a diverse classroom.
