My Academic Challenge by Kaya - December 2024 Scholarship Essay

Throughout high school I have faced many academic challenges, the most challenging one was myself. I always procrastinate, second-guess, and limit myself to what I can do. Procrastination is my worst enemy, I always say I’m going to do something when I have time, and then it comes around to doing it and I don't end up doing it. This happens whenever I have a paper, a project, and homework. I always get it done but it always ends up being last minute when I do decide to get it done. When I am taking a test I think I get the right answer until when I go back and check over it I start second-guessing myself. I always choose the second answer and when I get my test back the first choice I picked was actually the right one.
Like the next person I have my limits, I have learned that since I started sophomore year I started limiting myself more and more. I limited myself on what I could take on when I realized I could do more. Since starting my last three years of school I have been getting lazy with all the work I have to do. I face so many challenges in high school but the biggest challenge I face will always be myself. I determine what I can do and when I can do it. I am also trying to overcome my challenges the best I can, I believe I can do it one day at a time.
