Gaining Experiences by Lillie - November 2025 Scholarship Essay

Hello, my name is Lillie Glenn I am interested in the Varsity Tutors College Scholarship because I've always been interested on how learning and experiences can change someone's life. That is why schooling is very important to me. The Varsity Tutor Scholarship really caught my interest because its not just about the money, but being able to gain my own experiences from other students and mentors who are also wanting to learn new things and develop new idea's.
Technology has changed the interaction and ways of learning in the classroom for the good. Being able to tailor your learning ways to fit you. Now being able to do this on the technology such as virtual field trips, and new simulations. For me, that has benefitted me because I am a visual learner. Seeing new ideas and concepts on a screen helps me better think and learn new ideas and advance my learning. It also has helped me meet new people. Having the group projects on zoom or even in person on the computer collabing on google docs has helped me make great friends just from this interactions. Technology has been able to prep me for the real world,being able to work with the digital platform's.
The biggest impact for me on a more personal level. I have not always been the best writer on paper so being able to share ideas to peers for them to understand is huge. Teachers can now give personal feedback on projects or assignments'. Meaning getting the feedback in the process of things and not falling behind on things.
In conclusion, technology hasn't just changed what we learn, but being able to change how we learn and grow experience's, and learn new thoughts from people around the world. I think you should give me the chance for this scholarship not just for the money but for me to grow my learning and experiences'.
