Dual Enrollment-My Highest Achievement by Madison - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

My greatest accomplishment in high school thus far has been my acquisition of 40 college credits ahead of my graduation. Hard work, sacrifices, and determination have allowed me to reach my goals, as well as prepared me for life as a college student.

My senior year of high school has especially prepared me to reach my goals. I have spent my senior year dual enrolled full time at Kennesaw State University. Being immersed full time in college has helped me learn what to expect when enrolled as an undergraduate student. I consistently maintained a very high GPA and grade average during my fall semester at Kennesaw. By the end of my senior year, I will have earned 20 college credits through the program.

Taking AP classes throughout my high school career also helped earn more credits. I took 4 AP classes in high school, and earned fours and fives on all of my exams, which allowed me to earn an AP Scholar award from the College Board. I earned twenty credits alone from the AP program. Dual enrollment and rigorous AP courses helped me earn a multitude of college credits to be applied at UGA. By the time I graduate high school, I will have 40 college credits and enter UGA as a sophomore.
