Accomplishments throughout the years by Madyson - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

Starting at a young age my love of education and motivation to go to school had begun to grow. I began to take an interest in different subjects such as math, literature, and science. I learned how to read early on and exceeded in that department. I also was very skilled in both math and science, placing myself in an enrichment program early on in my schooling. Through all of these minor accomplishments bigger ones began to proceed throughout the rest of my years of schooling.
A few minor school accomplishments that came before my biggest accomplishment would be having first or second honors throughout all of my years of schooling. Then in the sixth grade, I wrote an essay for my old school for them to win a science fair and I was selected from many applications, receiving third place and winning for my elementary school. It was also the end of sixth grade year when I was selected to receive the presidential award at our step up ceremony. The day of eighth grade graduation, I once again received this presidential award. My junior year of high school also held a great deal of accomplishments for myself. In October, 2015 I was inducted into the National Honors Society, then in May of 2016 I was nominated and selected to be a recipient of the Good Citizenship Award through the Union League of Philadelphia.
Although all of these accomplishments are notable, the one I'm most proud of would be from this November, 2016 when I was selected to be secretary of the National Honor Society in my high school. Being selected as secretary showed that all of my hard work from the past four years of high school had finally been proven worthy. I am now not only a part of one of the greatest programs for upperclassmen in high school but on the board as well. I am the most proud of this because I had pushed myself hard to come out on top and the board of National Honors Society truly does prove that. As a leader and being in the top of my class I can help set the pathway for future NHS members and future secretaries as well. I hope to leave a mark no matter where I am in life and high school is one of the first stops. With this huge accomplishment I am coming out successful and leaving the school knowing I did the best I could while I was there. All of this hard work is something both myself and my family are extremely proud of and I look forward to doing more big things like this in the near future.
