As a freshman at Western Nebraska Community College, majoring in Nursing, I have already encountered several challenges that tested my determination and resilience. One particular academic experience stands out as both a hurdle and a significant learning opportunity. This experience taught me not only about the subject matter but also about the importance of perseverance and seeking help when needed.

In my first semester, I enrolled in a challenging Anatomy and Physiology course, which is a crucial part of the Nursing curriculum. I was excited about the course because it is foundational to my future career in healthcare. However, I quickly realized that the volume of information and the complexity of the material were far greater than anything I had encountered in high school. My high school GPA of 3.87 reflected my ability to grasp concepts quickly, but this course required a different level of dedication and study habits.

Initially, I struggled with the sheer amount of memorization required. The human body is incredibly complex, and understanding the intricate details of its systems was overwhelming. I found myself spending hours on a single chapter, only to realize that I had retained very little of the information. This was discouraging, and I began to doubt my ability to succeed in the course and, by extension, in my chosen field of Nursing.
