Did you say group project? by Nicole - March 2015 Scholarship Essay
Once you enter the realm of college education one begins to wonder if all your classes will be challenging, time consuming, and the question on most people's minds, will there be group work? Either you form the groups or your professor will assign them, but either way leadership skills are needed to organize the group. If every college student waited for someone else to take charge of their group and create a game plan who knows if students would finish their work? Every group, class project, place of employment needs one person to utilize their communication, time management, and organizational skills to accomplish whatever is ahead.
Leadership in groups is just as necessary as leadership skills for one's own life and ambitions throughout and beyond college. College gives one the opportunity to discover and fine tune their leadership skills to help them get through college and beyond. Taking charge of your groups assignment and learning how to attempt to other group members strengths and weaknesses will be an asset as one enters the workforce and/or life after college. To get through college, leadership skills will allow one to adapt, be organized, and conduct productive that will give students a purpose and additional skills needed beyond the group work in classes.
