If I could go back 5 years and give myself some advice, it would be to trust in God. I have always been known as the person to worry about everything. All from the biggest tests to the smallest decision I had to make. I always wondered “how can this affect me.” For a middle schooler, this was too much worrying to deal with. I feel that if I took my everyday worries and put them in God’s hands, I would have been happier. I would have been a kid and had not worried about the smallest decisions.
Today, I have God to help me with my worries. I know that He has a plan for me, and He knows what is best for me. I feel great relief when I pray to Him and He sends me signs. Learning this now, I wonder how I was able to deal with the stress and anxiety surrounding me. Having God in my life has also helped me to lessen my anxiety by knowing I can trust Him. When my grandparents passed, it was a difficult time, but I often prayed to God to send me a sign to let me know that they are with Him and that they are ok. One night, I had a dream that I was visiting my grandparents at their tombstones, and they were there. I ran up to them and gave them a big hug and told me they loved me. After that, I woke up knowing that was my sign from God that they are ok, and since then I have trusted God with my whole heart.
