Academic All Star by Rhiannon - December 2016 Scholarship Essay

It was last year and I was busting my butt off to get all A's so I could get academic all star. In order to be an academic all star you have to have a 3.89 Gpa and pass all of your Eoi's, you can also have a 3.8 and score advance on one of your EOI test.
I moved to my new school the beginning of third nine weeks.I noticed some kids wearing a red and white letterman jackets, so I asked them how they got them and they told me about the academic all stars. I knew right away that was the group and award that I want to be in and have.
The rest of that year I worked as hard as I could to get all A's and score as high as I could on my EOI's at the end of the year. After the EOI's were taken the administration announced the 2015 academic all stars. It was what I have been waiting for all year. They said all the names by grade, then they got to the freshman class. My name was never called it was the biggest disappointment ever!
Afterwards I went to one of the teachers and asked why I didn't get it. She said,"You have to be going to the school for a year in order to be eligible to be an academic all star." As soon as she told me that, I knew exactly what I had to do.
So, the next school year I worked even harder on all my work and scored high on every single EOI test that I took. It felt like the days were dragging on and on, finally the day came. The principal was announcing all the names by grades it was the longest minute of my life. Then he got to the sophomore class and announced my name, it was by far the biggest accomplishment that I have ever received.
I was so proud of myself for getting it now I am working on getting it my second time. This just proves that if you work hard, study and do the best you can it all pays off. I am so proud of getting this it has opened tons of doors for me in my academic work.
