As a first-time college student at Union University, I have already encountered a few challenges that have tested my resolve and adaptability. One academic experience that stands out as particularly challenging was my first semester's final exam period. As a Religious/Theological Studies major, I am passionate about exploring deep questions and understanding diverse perspectives on spirituality and ethics. However, the transition from high school to college-level expectations was more difficult than I anticipated.

During my first semester, I was enrolled in a course called "Introduction to Biblical Studies." The class was fascinating and aligned perfectly with my interests. I was eager to dive into the subject matter and absorb as much knowledge as possible. However, as the semester progressed, I realized that my study habits from high school were not sufficient for college-level work. The amount of reading was much more than I was used to, and the level of analysis expected in my essays and exams required a deeper understanding and critical thinking skills.

As finals approached, I felt overwhelmed. I had several papers due and exams to prepare for, and I struggled to manage my time effectively. I found myself staying up late trying to catch up on readings and prepare outlines for my essays. Despite my efforts, I felt unprepared and anxious about the upcoming exams. I knew I needed to find a way to overcome these challenges and succeed in my courses.
