According to Confucius, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Confucius was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher of the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history. He was best known for his teaching of social and political. His quote shows that dreams matter and following your dreams it will make your life worthwhile and fun. It also made me realize that I do have a dream and my dream is to be a chef and open my own restaurant where I can introduce the world to people who enjoys delicious food.
To me, a chef means being a person who enjoys cooking, being creative, and who is willing to take on any challenges, even with a disability. Being a chef may involve a lot of obstacles blocking the way, due to my hearing disability. However, I do not allow any obstacles or challenges to prevent me from achieving my dreams. My plan to be a chef is to gain as much knowledge about food and cooking as I can. I have already taken three classes related to food and cooking, including a dual credit college course, which allowed me to gain a little bit of knowledge in the food service industry. After high school, I plan to go to Ivy tech Community College for their culinary arts program, which is known to be in the top 10 Culinary Schools in Indiana. I will complete two years of school to obtain an Associate Degrees in Culinary Arts and then another year to in order to baking and pastries. I want to go into baking and pastries is because I want to be a person who knows little bit of everything and constantly learning the new techniques in the Culinary world. These degrees will help me open a business, restaurants, or culinary arts school in order to have a wide variety of experiences. I believe that eating well leads to good nutrition and gives people enjoyable experiences. People who come into the places I open will have these experiences. I want to have every different experiences that will make me feel like I’ve accomplished my dream.
According to Alia Bhatt, “Whatever you do, do with determination. You have one life to live; do your work with passion and give your best. Whether you want to be a chef, doctor, actor, or a mother, be passionate to get the best result.” I have a dream and that is to be a chef. I plan on going to Ivy Tech Community College, participating in their Culinary Arts and Baking Pastry program. With these experiences that I’m gaining, I plan on opening a business or culinary arts to pass on these knowledge that I have and help other achieve their dreams as well.
