My Journey to Pursuing Therapeutic Exercise Science by Sofie - April 2025 Scholarship Essay

At the moment, I am majoring in Therapeutic Exercise Science with a Physical Therapy emphasis. My personal experience with physical therapy following an injury I suffered while playing varsity softball in high school is what led me to pursue this career path. In addition to assisting me in properly rehabilitating from my injury , physical therapy inspired a genuine interest in the field. I have seen directly how physical therapists help people recover, regain their strength, and resume what they enjoy most. They give their patients emotional assistance along with physical healing, which further motivated me.

I have always loved helping others and I believe this job is the perfect chance for me to make a real difference in people's lives. I am excited to help athletes return to their sport and to support people in getting back to their daily activities. I look forward to making a positive difference in their lives. This major and career choice lets me blend my passion for fitness and sports with my wish to help others making it the ideal choice for me. I am excited to keep learning and to one day have a job where I can truly help the people I work with.
