During my high school years, I hit a tough patch that really tested me. It was junior year, a time when everything seemed to pile up at once—keeping up with schoolwork, thinking about college, and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. I have always known I wanted to go into business and eventually get an MBA, but my GPA was not where I wanted it, and math, in particular, was giving me a hard time.

Math has never been my strongest subject, but I knew I had to get better at it if I wanted to pursue a career in business. At first, I felt pretty lost and worried that struggling with math would mess up my plans. I realized I needed to tackle this issue head-on, not just for my grades, but also for my confidence and future goals.

The first thing I did was reach out for help, which was not easy for me. I talked to my math teacher about what I was going through, and she was incredibly supportive. She offered to help me out after school, and we spent time working together on the areas I found tricky. She also provided me with extra resources to practice at home, which was a big help.

On top of that, I decided to join a study group with some classmates. This was a game-changer for me because it showed me that I was not alone in this struggle. We helped each other out and shared different ways to understand the material. Studying with friends made learning a lot more fun and less intimidating. It was encouraging to see how we could all improve by working together and supporting one another.

I also started using online resources like educational videos and practice problems. I made it a point to spend a little time on math every day, even if it was just a bit. This regular practice helped me slowly get better and more comfortable with the subject. I learned that sticking with it and being patient really pays off, which is a lesson that goes beyond just school.

Eventually, my grades started to improve, but more importantly, I felt more confident about tackling tough subjects. This experience taught me that challenges are actually chances to grow. It is not about how fast you get through them, but about the grit and determination you show along the way. I learned to see obstacles as opportunities to learn and develop resilience.

I also learned a lot about managing my time and setting priorities. Balancing math with other classes and activities meant I had to get organized and stay on top of things. I made a schedule that let me focus on my studies while still doing things I enjoyed, like spending time with friends and participating in extracurricular activities. This experience taught me the importance of balance and how to effectively manage my time.

This whole experience has set me up for the future in a big way. It showed me I can overcome obstacles and that asking for help is okay. It also made me even more excited about a career in business. I am pumped to keep improving my skills and to see challenges as chances to learn and grow.

Looking forward, I am excited about the idea of studying business at a place like Washington State University, University of Washington, University of Oregon, or Prairie View A&M University. I feel like what I have been through has given me the perseverance and determination I need to succeed in college and beyond. I am ready to take on new challenges and keep working towards my goal of getting an MBA.

In the end, dealing with academic challenges has taught me a lot about resilience, teamwork, and the importance of reaching out for help. These lessons will stick with me as I go after higher education and a career in business. I am thankful for the support from my teachers and friends, and I am determined to make the most of the opportunities ahead.

I believe that my experiences in high school have prepared me well for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in college and beyond.
