Sophomore Year by Arnold - December 2024 Scholarship Essay

Sophomore year, it was my worst year yet. I wouldn't even say that I had gotten any worse grades before or since my sophomore year. I had gotten lazy and over confident. I say I had gotten overconfident, due to my Freshman year.
In my freshman year, I went into highschool, with fear. I was scared that I would do awful, and I would have awful grades. However, my freshman year was a huge breeze. I had no hard classes and no classes that were even that bad. I had 1 honors class and got an A in that class in both my fall and spring semesters. So I was really confident. So I had signed up for an AP class and 3 honors classes, on top of my sport (baseball) for my sophomore year.
Entering my sophomore year I had gone through the first like 3 weeks and it was also just a light breeze. But I had gotten distracted by other things going on through school. I had been too caught up with baseball and it was overwhelming me with a bunch of work. I had gotten 4 C’s and 1 D, and 1 A. It was not good at all. It was awful. I went to summer school and got a B in computers.
In my junior year I had gone into it with a plan, I had planned to always get my assignments done as soon as I had gotten them. It was a very simple plan but it was very effective. I had gotten all B’s my fall and spring semesters.
