Being born prematurely with Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has presented significant challenges in my life, especially in academics. My journey began with delayed communication skills, as was nonverbal for the first five years of my life.
This made engaging with peers and understanding the world around me incredibly difficult. However, through intensive occupational and physical therapy, I gradually developed motor and social skills, learning to express myself and navigate a world that often felt overwhelming.

In high school, I enrolled in a demanding four-year Interior Design program. Although I was passionate about design, my disability made it difficult to keep up with the fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Communicating my ideas during client presentations and group projects often felt intimidating. To overcome this, I practiced diligently, seeking feedback from my teachers and peers to refine my skills. With persistence, I not only gained confidence in public speaking but also excelled in translating creative concepts into tangible designs.

Simultaneously, I faced new challenges at home when my mother became disabled due to illness. I took on significant responsibilities, from managing household tasks to caring for her, all while maintaining my academic commitments. Balancing these roles taught me resilience and time management.

These experiences have shaped my determination to succeed in higher education and my aspiration to become an Interior Architect. I am particularly passionate about designing accessible spaces that accommodate individuals with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity for all. My journey reflects not only the challenges have faced but also my ability to persevere, adapt, and thrive in the face of adversity.
