My Inspiration by Hanah - September 2013 Scholarship Essay

         Several family members and friends have become my role models because of their outstanding effort and achievement in school and the community. However, one person stands out to me the most. I have known her since I was born and she has always been around to help my family and I out.
            My academic role model would definitely have to be my aunt. She is a Physical Therapist at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona and is currently attending Arizona State University in the process of receiving her doctorate in Women’s Health Studies. Her persistence to finish her schooling and earn her degree has inspired me to also want to become a physical therapist. She has been attending Arizona State University for so many years, attempting to earn her doctorate, and this year she is finally graduating. Her dedication has really inspired myself to make big dreams and achieve them. Looking at how hard my aunt has worked to graduate (writing a book, teaching classes, working to pay for school) has made me realize that success does not come easy. Every successful business worker, CEO, Doctor, teacher, etc. has worked very hard to be where they are today.
            My aunt has been an inspiration for me because she has proved to me that hard work always pays off.
