Simple yet Beautiful by Misumi - August 2013 Scholarship Essay
In last thirteen years I took more than ninety classes to learn so many lessons from English to wood processing. Among those classes the biology classes I took in middle and high school were very fascinating; I can still remember about dissections of a cow eye, a frog, and a fetus of pig. Biology is the target of my interest and currently I am studying biology at university. However, I learned the most interesting lesson in my high school physics class. It is the law of the conservation of energy, and it says that energy can be converted and change its form but it cannot be created or destroyed. When I learned this lesson for the first time, I was so impressed by this very simple fact; a falling object is converting its potential energy to kinetic energy, a moving object can lose its kinetic energy as heat and sound, and electricity can be converted to light and vibrations. This basic lesson becomes my standard, and it helps me in different subjects such as chemistry. Through this theorem might be not perfect yet, the law of the conservation of energy is the most interesting and impressive lesson I ever learned. For me, this theory is the most beautiful lesson I learned next of the metric measurements.
