I have always been a straight A student. I didn’t receive my first B until high school. It was my freshman year and I was taking geometry. I worked really hard and couldn’t figure out how to achieve the A. So I went to my cousin. She is really smart and loves math. None of her tips helped me out. So I went to my friends. It turns out they were having trouble too. We all ended up with B’s for the semester. That winter break we made a bet, whoever had the best grade at the end of the year for food privileges. This meant when ever we went out to eat the others had to buy it for you. We were all in. This gave me all the motivation I needed. I love food and I was going to win. I studied really hard and all that work paid off. I had a lot of doubt when it came to the finals. I knew I had enough but I wasn’t feeling confident. The test comes and I say a prayer. I felt calm and started the test. By the end of the final I felt confident. When we all got out grades back I opened mine up first. I got a 96 percent on the test. All of my friends got around 90s. So I had won the bet. That summer was a one to remember.
