What motivates you to pursue your academic goals and how do you stay focused? by Veer - December 2024 Scholarship Essay

My family motivates me. They hold me to a standard of aiming for an A+ grade on my tests and classes, but at least getting higher than a B grade. This expectation pushes me to work hard and stay focused on my academic goals. Knowing that my family believes in me and wants the best for me keeps me going, even when things get tough.

As a rising high school senior with a GPA of 3.61, I know the importance of staying dedicated to my studies. I am planning to attend the University of South Carolina, where I will major in Marketing, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Business (MBA), and Accounting. These fields interest me because they offer a wide range of opportunities and the chance to make a positive impact in the business world.

To stay focused, I set clear goals for myself and break them down into smaller, manageable tasks. This helps me stay on track and not get overwhelmed. I also make use of study schedules and prioritize my time effectively. When I have a big test or project coming up, I make sure to start early and review my notes regularly. This way, I am always prepared and can avoid last-minute cramming.

Another thing that helps me stay motivated is my passion for learning. I enjoy discovering new things and understanding how different concepts connect. This curiosity drives me to dig deeper into my subjects and seek out additional resources, like online tutorials or study groups, to enhance my understanding.

Balancing my studies with other activities is also important. I make sure to take breaks and do things I enjoy, like playing sports or spending time with friends and family. This helps me recharge and return to my studies with a fresh mind.
